"It is very frustrating. Why does my doctor refuse to do the IgG-gliadin test?" These are many reasons for this. Most doctors have not yet caught up with the new way of looking at gluten reactions.
o Medics are only looking for coeliac disease. o The best test for coeliac disease is the tTG (or EMA). o The gluten sensitivity test (high IgG-gliadin) is not valued by them. o In New Zealand, Blood Labs in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington are abandoning the IgG-gliadin test. o Medics have been trained to disregard IgG-gliadin results. o The diagnosis of gluten-sensitivity is regarded as fringe or make-believe. o GPs do not believe in the gluten-sensitivity diagnosis. Also – some GPs have a budget. So naturally they do not want to spend any of their money on a test that they do not believe in. |
