Carolynn asks: “Can the kind of makeup I wear on my face (i.e. the kind that contains wheat) make my face break out? I've always had very nice skin and I barely had pimples as a teenager. But ever I have developed the celiac problem, I have terrible skin. Can wheat/gluten in my make-up be causing my problems with my complexion?”
Yes, this is true. Gluten on your skin can give you problems. Your make-up can cause your skin problems. Gluten, unfortunately, is a common an ingredient in many skin care and hair care products. So check out your make-up, your skin creams, your shampoos and your lipsticks. They should all be gluten free. Children can react after playing with play-dough and getting the gluten through their skin. Yes, gluten on your skin can cause a reaction. You can get glutened by skincare products. Rodney Ford |
