"How strict do I have to be on my gluten free diet? Is a little bit of gluten okay now ans then?"
I recommend that anyone who goes on a gluten-free diet should be as strict as possible.
Most people on a gluten free diet need to be very strict. However, it depends upon the reasons why you are on a gluten-free diet. If you have coeliac disease – then you need a very strict gluten-free diet, lifelong. No discussion.
If you are gluten-sensitive (that means you have no gut damage) then some people can get away with eating tiny amounts of gluten to tolerance. In my experience, it is best to keep your gluten-free diet as strict as you are able. |
