Jane writes: “Thanks for your reply to my query.  I really appreciate what you are doing to help those of us who have been affected in various ways by gluten.”

“I'm particularly interested in information about how it can affect the brain and my stamina - since for me these are even bigger problems than my gut symptoms.

“I am now 60 years old.  I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about 2 years ago.  I have been gluten-free since then.  I live in a community with multiple cooks so it is possible that I get a small bit of gluten without knowing.  But I never eat any gluten knowingly.

“I enjoyed reading your article entitled "Gluten Causes Brain Disease!

My daughter (now 6) has Celiac Disease diagnosed in June of 2005.  Since  going on a strict GF diet then, the changes in her have been dramatic.  Her swollen belly is now flat, her skin is vibrant, her hair is long and shiny, and she grew 6" in one year.

Not only that, she is a different person - her moodiness is gone (nearly!), she is more positive, confident, active, and the smartest kid in her 1st grade class.  She is now a fun, silly kid that loves to joke around.  Plus, her love of music is inspiring and impressive.

"I read your article entitled "Gluten Causes Brain Disease!" and I want to encourage your research.  About 2 years ago I was finally diagnosed with Celiacs, after complaining of many symptoms, including neurological problems,  and being told I was getting old or it was menopause.

My hands and feet were numb.  My muscles were cramping so badly I couldn't sleep.

I am Ann Petersen. This is my " Recovery" story.  After a long search I finally got better on a gluten-free diet.

I suffered my first depression in my senior year at high school.  I had problems concentrating on school work and suffered night terrors and even hallucinated occasionally.

“Thanks so much for your website.  Our son, 6 years old, has suffered eczema, as well as other problems such as sore tummy, general unhappiness and  headaches.  We started him on a gluten free diet and saw a change in him in within a few days.  People told me he seemed like a different child.
